Getting Involved
Each of the following Divisions of FACE has its own unique perspective on the importance of Arts Education in our society. Consequently, there is a link to a specific page for each Division providing guidance on ways to help save Arts Education in Fairfax County.
Parents - Parents are the most influencial group of any educational issue in a locality. You are the voice that the government needs to hear.
Students - Student perspective provides feedback to all groups on the immediate impact that cutting support for your opportunities will have.
Teachers - Teachers are great resources of the value and effects of an education in the Arts. That is why they are passionate about what they do!
General Supporters - People that do not currently have children in our schools, but are important members of our larger community, can speak to the value they see in their own Arts Education, or the value that an Arts Education has on Society in general, and bring their own unique perspective to the table.
Administrators - Administrators can speak to the experiences they have enjoyed in seeing the students perform in the Arts and understand the importance of the Arts in the complete education of a child.
The FACE Strategy
- Inform Supporters of Important Dates and Facts
- Handing out Postcards, Flyers and Leaflets at music events
- Recruit Speakers for School Board and Board of Supervisor Budget Hearings
- Organize and Assemble large groups of supporters to Attend School Board and Board of Supervisor Hearings, Meetings, Town Hall Dialogs
- Email, fax, phone call and Letter Writing campaigns/blitzes
- Petitions
